Yes. VivaEdu is built and ready to try with no booking required.

No email signup. No friction. Test it on your familiar LMS.

VivaEdu is designed to save time, not add to it. Most review is transcript-first with keyboard shortcuts and batch moderation. Transcript reviews can take under a minute per student. The interface is built for speed and easy to learn.

VivaEdu integrates with Blackboard, Moodle, and Canvas via LTI 1.3. All three integrations are live with demo sandboxes available for each. Instructors can also use the standalone web app for management outside the LMS.

TAs see anonymized student identifiers (e.g. "Student WBSH5W") rather than real names. They have access to transcripts only, not video recordings. This allows delegation while protecting student privacy.

Instructors can configure permanent or per-assignment accommodations:

  • Extra time (25%, 50%, 100%, or unlimited up to 5 minutes)
  • Pause and resume during recording
  • Re-recording with a configurable attempt budget
  • Typing mode (text instead of audio)
  • Camera exemption
  • Multilingual support with translation for instructor review

ARIMA (Automated Reasonable Adjustment Matching and Implementation Assistant) is in development as of January 2026.

See the Reasonable Adjustments Policy for full details.

Students can configure their own comfort and accessibility preferences:

  • Reduced motion and flash suppression
  • Larger buttons
  • Keyboard shortcuts
  • High contrast mode
  • Hide timer (to reduce anxiety)

No extra charge for any accessibility features.

VivaEdu supports all disciplines. Questions can include images, diagrams, formulae, and formatted text. LaTeX and Markdown are supported where needed.

Typically 15 to 60 seconds of preparation and 60 to 120 seconds of response time, set by the instructor. Pauses and longer breaks between questions can be enabled.

Audio and video are stored for instructor-only review. Instructors can disable video per assignment. Transcription is highly accurate across different speakers, and reviewers can always listen to audio playback alongside the transcript. Audio is deleted after 90 days, transcripts after 180 days.

VivaEdu requires students to explain and defend their own work on video. This is something AI cannot do for them. Optional integrity signals such as tab-switch detection provide additional context for review, but the viva itself is the verification.

All data is stored on AWS UK (London, eu-west-2). Each institution gets isolated storage. AWS infrastructure holds ISO 27001, ISO 27017, and ISO 27018 certifications. No data is transferred outside the UK. VivaEdu is GDPR and UK DPA aligned.

VivaEdu maintains an administrative audit trail that logs high-risk actions such as exports, grade pushes, session resets, and accommodation updates. The audit log is admin-only and read-only, with configurable retention (default 365 days). See the Docs & Guides for full details.

VivaEdu focuses on oral defence of a student's own work. Time-bounded prompts and transcript-first review reveal authentic understanding. This is a privacy-first assessment method, not live proctoring. The key insight is simple: a conversation is the only assessment AI cannot complete for a student.
