Common Issues
Quick solutions to frequently encountered issues.
For Students
Viva Shows "LOCKED"
Either the publish date hasn't arrived, you need to submit a prerequisite assignment, or it's outside the allowed time window.
Cannot Start Viva
Try a different browser (Chrome please, safari is okay too), disable ad blockers. Its most certainly one of those two.
Video Stuck Uploading
Wait 1-2 minutes. If still stuck, reload the page and navigate back to the viva. It will resume from the first unanswered question.
Lost Progress After Disconnection
Progress is saved. Return to your dashboard, find the viva (state: RESUME), and continue where you left off.
Microphone/Camera Not Working
Grant permission when prompted. Check browser settings if permission was previously denied. Try a different browser if issues persist.
Browser Crashed During Viva
Return to the viva from your dashboard. State will show RESUME. Continue from where you left off.
For Instructors
Students Cannot See Viva
Check: (1) Is it published? (2) Are they enrolled in the class? (3) Did you select them in Step 5? (4) Has the publish date arrived?
Cannot Edit Viva After Students Started
Once students begin, question pool and timing may be locked. You can still edit details, dates, rubric, and add/remove students.
Video Won't Play
Browser codec issue. Try Chrome or Firefox. Read the transcript if video playback fails.
